RFID Reader 107 is a desktop UHF RFID reader that sits beside a PC. It reads and writes EPC Class 1 Gen2 (ISO 18000-6C) and ISO 18000-6B tags held close to it — up to 300 mm for reading and 100 mm for writing. This makes it the reader you use to register new tags, assign them to items and check individual tags, rather than to scan a whole room.

What Is RFID Reader 107?
Reader 107 is a desktop-based UHF RFID reader that connects to a PC. Its anti-collision algorithm lets it handle more than one tag in its field. It can authenticate tags, read and write tag data, lock tags, and permanently disable (“kill”) a tag.
Its short, controlled read range is what sets it apart from BSD Infotech’s fixed readers. When you are writing an EPC number to a new label or checking one garment tag, you want to read only the tag in front of you — not every tagged item nearby. Reader 107 is used at desks and counters where tags are registered, encoded and verified. Fixed readers such as Reader 85, Reader 88 or the 4 Port RFID Reader then handle reading at a distance.

How Reader 107 Fits Into an RFID Solution
An RFID reader on its own does not track anything. It is one part of a system: tags on the items, an antenna, the reader, software, and the database or business application where the records live.
Reader 107’s role: it is usually the enrolment point of a UHF system. A tag is placed on the reader, its EPC is read or written, and the software links it to an item record. After that, fixed readers or handhelds read the tag as the item moves.
