UHF RFID Labels & Inlays
UHF RFID labels and inlays are thin, passive RFID tags that work in the UHF band (865–867 MHz in India) and can be read from a distance, several at a time, without line of sight. They are used to tag assets, stock, files, garments and cartons so items can be counted and tracked quickly with fixed or handheld RFID readers.
Label or Inlay?
Inlay
The antenna and chip on a thin film, used inside cards, tickets, garment tags or custom converted products.
Label
An inlay laminated into a printable adhesive label, ready to stick on items and print with text or barcodes.
UHF vs HF Labels
UHF labels read from longer range and in bulk, which suits inventory counts, asset audits and logistics. HF (13.56 MHz) labels read at short range and are common in libraries and item-level access — see HF labels & inlays. Metal surfaces and liquids affect UHF performance; for metal assets use RFID metal tags.
Where UHF Labels Are Used
- Fixed-asset tagging and audits with RFID asset management software
- Stock and inventory counting in stores and warehouses
- File and document tracking
- Garment and laundry items (with washable tags — see RFID laundry management)
The label size, chip, adhesive and printing are chosen for the surface and read range needed. BSD Infotech supplies UHF labels with readers and software as a complete solution.
