The HID DigitalPersona 4500 is a compact optical USB fingerprint reader for fingerprint enrolment and verification — at a single desktop, or at shared stations such as reception desks and point-of-sale counters. When a finger is placed on the reader window, it automatically captures and encrypts the fingerprint image, and it works with HID’s DigitalPersona biometric SDKs.

DigitalPersona 4500 Drivers & Software
HID Global publishes official drivers for the DigitalPersona 4500 on its website. There are two driver types; which one you need depends on the software you will use with the reader.
Legacy (non-WBF) driver
For applications that expect the DigitalPersona legacy driver interface, such as many attendance and custom fingerprint applications. HID lists it for Windows 10 and Windows 11. It is not used by the Windows Biometric Framework.
WBF (Windows Hello) driver
Installs the fingerprint driver for the Windows Biometric Framework, to support Windows Hello fingerprint login. HID lists it for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.
Drivers are hosted by HID Global; BSD Infotech does not host driver files. Supported operating systems depend on the driver version and on your application — check with us if you are unsure.
DigitalPersona 4500 SDK & Integration
The DigitalPersona 4500 is designed for use with HID’s authentication software and with most DigitalPersona biometric SDKs, which developers use to add fingerprint enrolment and verification to their applications. BSD Infotech offers:

Club & Membership Access
At several leading clubs in India, members verify their identity with a fingerprint at reception or a self-service kiosk on arrival. Only after that check does the system allow them to use any point-of-sale outlet in the club.
